In 2010, we began a job’s class that teaches not only how to write a résumé, how to interview (as well as practice interviewing), and how to job hunt, but also delves into each participant’s reason for incarceration and techniques to keep from re-offending. Each class begins with approximately 10 students. Classes run approximately 10 weeks per session. Four sessions are available per year. After the preparation of a résumé and cover letter (placed on a thumb drive purchased by Sheriff Ken Campbell of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office), a packet is prepared with résumé paper and envelopes, a pamphlet on job hunting tips, a jump drive with the prepared résumé and cover letter, and a list of companies hiring in the Lebanon area. We do maintain contact with some of these students in order to help them in job searching upon release from jail/prison.
In 2013 there were 15 graduates of the Job’s Class, 11 males and 4 females
